Suganthi Thatheyus
Teacher

Suganthi is the Teacher at our Mumbai school. She has been teaching at this Kripa school for the last 2 years. She was born and grew up in the state of Tamil Nadu, in India and in 2010 she moved to Mumbai with her husband, Thomas. She has been teaching since 2008, right after she completed her advanced college degree. Teaching underprivileged children from the Mumbai slums gives her great joy. “Helping the needy brings a positive change in her own life”, says Suganthi.

 

She loves listening to music and would finds different ways of incorporating music in her classes. As the teacher of the Mumbai school, she has taught over 70 children which brought them to a level where they could graduate to full-fledged primary schools. She would love to see her students provided with school uniforms as she believes that it motivates them as well as gives them a sense of recognition in their communities.

Shoba Kale
Assistant

Shoba is the Assistant at our Mumbai school. She is one of our first employees in India. She, her husband, Vibshan, and their four children live in a neighborhood slum community. Herself a resident of the slum community, Shoba is greatly motivated to help others in need. This passion led her to the Kripa school in Mumbai where she has been working as the Assistant. She finds her working hours at the school highly therapeutic.

 

As a person who grew up in a slum community, Shoba believes that this education that we provide to the children is the main factor that changes their lives for the best.
